Healthy Relationship Education MaineTeenTalk (MTT) delivers research-based Healthy Relationships education to Maine teens. We teach the skills and knowledge they need to create lifelong successful, respectful relationships. Our 8-hour interactive program engages students with multi-media components and role plays. Because we work primarily with health teachers throughout Maine, this program was specifically designed to help educators meet the requirements of the State of Maine Learning Results. Our program teaches teens essential strategies to build positive listening and speaking skills, set appropriate boundaries and practice responsible budgeting/finance techniques. Our unique, two-tiered program involves the use of MTT educators for schools located near our office in Portland. We also hold "Teach Out Of the Box" (TOOB) workshops throughout the state to train educators who want to teach our program in their classes.
In 2009-2010, MaineTeenTalk provided Healthy Relationships education to nearly 3,000 students across the State. Some of what students learn that will help them with their relationships:
